TABITHA MERIDETH

Tabitha Elaine Merideth, 51 years of age, passed away on November 14, 2024 with such grace in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. After two and a half years of battling cancer, she is now cancer free and at peace.

Tabitha was born on November 27th, 1972 in Steubenville, Ohio to Thomas and Deborah Hendricks. She was the big sister of Trey Hendricks. Tabitha was educated at Edison South High School and Bowling Green State University.

Tabitha married Scott Merideth in 1996 and two girls were born of this union. She was baptized, grew up and got married at Hill Top Presbyterian Church, where she served actively on many committees until her death. She was a member of session and served as the superintendent of the Christian Education department for 23 years. Tabitha was also the Physical Education and Health teacher at Toronto Jr./Sr. High School for 16 years, where she was beloved and where she inspired so many. At school, as kids would leave her class everyday, she always said “be kind to one another.” To know her was to love her.

Tabitha loved to help others and would do anything for anyone. She loved being surrounded by her family and friends, hosting parties, cookouts and gatherings. She also loved taking boat rides, playing with animals, jeep rides, trips to the ocean, christmas hallmark movies, teaching and spending time with her family. Her smile and laugh was infectious and no matter what she was going through, remained positive and had unwavering faith. Her beautiful smile and her warm and loving presence would brighten every room she walked in. She was such a loving, caring, and compassionate person and a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend, always thinking of others first. After every conversation, she would end it with “Walk with God” and that is what she is doing now.

Tabitha leaves to cherish her loving memory to her husband, Scott Merideth, her daughters Delaney (Drew) Holbrook and Jocelyn Merideth, her parents, Thomas and Deborah Hendricks, Brother, Trey (Lisa, Ben and Isabella) Hendricks Jr., Father-In-Law Robert (Karen) Merideth and many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. She is preceded in death by mother-in-law Mollie Merideth, grandmother Marilyn Eisnaugle and grandfather Edmund Eisnaugle, grandmother Arnetta Pat Hendricks and grandfather Thomas Hendricks Sr.

Visitation for Tabitha will be held on Monday, November 18th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm and Tuesday, November 19th from 10-11am and the service will start at 11am. These will be held at Hilltop Presbyterian Church in Toronto, OH. In lieu of flowers, please send all donations to Hill Top Presbyterian Church.
