Judy Pollock, 85, of Marietta, Georgia entered the gates of heaven Thursday, December 12, 2024, after suffering a stroke.
Judy was born in Pittsburgh Pennsylva nia. Her family move to Weirton, West Virginia when she was 2 years old as her father began a job at Weirton Steel. She graduated from Weir High in 1958.
Shortly after graduation she met her beloved Ralph Pollock at a dance at Guilford Lake. They married in 1959 and raised four children. They enjoyed 59 years together until Ralph went to be with the Lord in 2018.
Ralph and Judy moved to Howland, Ohio after the wedding. Their early years of marriage included the birth of four children while Ralph worked fulltime and attended college at night. After his graduation, they bought their first home in Austintown, Ohio where they resided for 14 years.
They spent one year in Canfield, Ohio before moving to Marietta, Georgia in 1979 when Ralph was transferred.
While primarily a homemaker, Judy worked as a sales consultant and manager for Home Interiors and Gifts for many years.
Judy loved and was loved by her family. They shared a delicious dinner together every Sunday, lovingly prepared by Judy who was a great cook. At Christmas she baked cookies, candies and fruit cakes which was her way of sharing her love with others.
After Ralph's retirement, Judy and Ralph enjoyed spending time together, serving at Must Ministries, attending Bible Studies and transporting their only granddaughter, Melissa, wherever she needed to be. They were a wonderful team and were excellent witnesses of the love of Christ to their family and others.
After Ralph's death, Judy moved to Sterling Estates of West Cobb where she enjoyed living for the last five years.
Judy was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Astfalk Sr., her mother Leona Astfalk, her husband Ralph Pollock, her brother, Edwin Astfalk Jr., her sister-in-law Patty Astfalk and recently her son, Curt Pollock.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in- law, Lynnette and Keith Rau, her daughter, Sharon Pollock and her son, Eric Pollock. She also leaves her granddaughter and her family, Melissa and Aaron Bailey and their sons, Brandt and Palmer. Judy also leaves behind, her brother, Bill Astfalk of Weirton, West Virginia, her sister-in-law, Nancy Astfalk and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 2:00pm – 3:00pm at Mayes Ward Dobbins funeral home in Marietta, Georgia on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.
A celebration of life service will follow the visitation in the chapel at 3:00pm.
A private burial will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
