James Paul Arthurs 90 of Wellsburg WV died peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Select Hospital in Weirton WV.
He was born on February 22, 1934, in Wellsburg, WV a son of the late Paul Wilbur and Margaret Elizabeth (Hoover) Arthurs. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Donna Jean (Horne) Arthurs on December 22, 2020.
James graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1952 and later joined the Air Force and served during the Korean War. He retired after many years as a heavy equipment operator for I.M.S. He was Episcopalian by faith and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose #1564, along with being an avid WVU and Pittsburgh Steeler Fan. James also liked to tinker in his woodshop.
He has survived by two sons Craig and Suzanne Arthurs of Steubenville, Ohio and Paul and Denise Arthurs of Follansbee, WV; along with five grandchildren, Shaun (Jodee) Arthurs, Mason Arthurs, Jay (Teresa) Arthurs, Chelsea Arthurs, and Ben Arthurs, and five great grandchildren, Anahi, Giselle, Crystal, Thomas, and Frankie; one great great grandson, Taylor Jay; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 11 AM until 12:45 PM at the Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St., Follansbee, WV.
A graveside service with full Military Honors conducted by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad and the United States Air Force will be held at 1:00 P.M. at Franklin Cemetery in Wellsburg WV.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation, D.A.V., or Tunnel to Tower Foundation.
