LULA RAWSON
Lula Mae (Blankenship) Rawson, 93, of Toronto, OH, passed away Saturday Jan. 4, 2025, at Northwood Village in Dover, OH.
Lula Mae was born March 12, 1931, in Costonia, OH, daughter of the late Guy and Lettie (Headley) Blankenship.
She retired from the Steubenville Herald Star Newspaper having worked in the Circulation Dept. Lula Mae was a member of the Weirton First Church of the Nazarene and had been attending Carrollton (OH) Baptist Temple.
In addition to her parents, Lula Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Robert “Bob” Rawson, whom she married Oct. 3, 1947, and who passed away April 30, 2020; two brothers, and their wives, Oris (Mary Alice) Blankenship and Bob (Madge) Blankenship; sister, Mildred (Paul) Smith and son-in-law, Richard A. Stine.
Lula Mae leaves behind three children, Linda Stine of Dellroy, OH, Dennis Rawson of Zanesville, OH and Kevin (Nancy) Rawson of Lisbon, OH; six grandchildren, Linette Nuske of Canton, OH, Lesley Gambone of Akron, OH, Stanley (Mary) Lipinsky of Carrollton, Daniel (Chelsea) Rawson of Wellsville, OH, Bobby Rawson of Lisbon and Michelle Rawson of S. Carolina; one step-grandchild, Ed (Gerry) Stine of Irondale, OH; nine great-grandchildren, Steve (Vicki) Nuske, David (Cassie) Nuske, Anthony (Makenna) Swiger, Kaitlin Shine, Courtney Shine, Stanley Lipinsky, Jr., Alex Lipinsky, Liam Rawson, Lilly Rawson and Camden Rawson; four great-great-grandchildren, Wyatt Nuske, Kasen Swiger, Colton Nuske, and Lexi Nuske.
Visitation will be held on Friday Jan. 10 from 1 PM to 2 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Pastor David Powell of the Carrollton Baptist Temple will officiate her service at 2 PM. Lula Mae will be laid to rest in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
