Mary Colangeli, 97, of Weirton, WV, passed away on January 7, 2025. Mary was born on February 7, 1927, in Dennison, Ohio, to the late Eusebio and Santa Lupi. Mary was predeceased by her stepmother, Lucia Lupi, her beloved husband of 48 years, Jack, and her sisters, Rosina, Anna and Carmella.
Mary's greatest joy and happiness was her family. She was an exceptional cook and baker. Every Sunday, her kitchen would be filled with the aroma of fresh sauce cooking on the stovetop and the Italian Hour playing on the radio. Her warm personality, generous spirit and deep religious faith resonated in all she did.
Mary will be greatly remembered with love and admiration by her children, Anthony "Tony" (Patty) Colangeli, Mary Lou (John) Orr, and Jack (Niki) Colangeli; by her 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Mary's family would like to extend their profound thanks and gratitude to Dr. Jasbir Makar for his tireless dedication and for his outstanding medical care and treatment of their mother. During her last few years, Mary was in the skilled hands of the Weirton Geriatric Center Nursing Home, Enchanted Gardens. The nursing staff, aides and ancillary personnel are truly devoted, dedicated and compassionate individuals. We would like to thank them for their exceptional care of our mother. The family would also like to thank Scott of Valley Hospice for his compassionate care and dedication.
