Maxine Rea (Clemens) Lauck, 90 of Wellsburg, WV died peacefully on Wednesday January 15, 2025 at Weirton Medical Center.
She was born on December 12, 1934, in Washington, PA to the late Robert and Zella (Rea) Clemens. After her mother passed she was raised by her maternal grandparents in Independence, PA. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband James Richard "Dick" Lauck and her daughter Linda Sue (Lauck) Demark.
She married the love of her life, Dick, on June 26, 1954, and celebrated 65 wonderful years together.
Maxine graduated from Avella High School in 1952. She later worked for Henry's Jeweler's where she was a salesperson and Wellsburg Banking and Trust as a Drive Thru Teller. She attended the Wellsburg Christian Church and was a member of the A.A.R.P. She was a very Christian woman who practiced her faith and attended Wellsburg Christian Church for 40 years and was a member of the choir. She never met a stranger and was always the first person to help someone in need. She battled Alzheimer disease for many years.
Surviving is her daughter Cynthia(Bill) Hart of Jacksonville, Fl; her sister Marlene Preat of Frederick, MD; two grandchildren: Christopher (Andrea) Hart of PA and Jennifer L. Hart of FL.
She is also survived by a half sister Roberta Findling and a half brother Rick (Judy) Clemens of Washington, PA. Also surviving her are her sisters-in-law Betty Trimmer, Dorothy Green, Ruth Stein and brother-in-law Howard (Margaret) Lauck.
The family would like to thank Weirton Geriatric Center for all the wonderful care she received while a resident there. I especially want to thank Teresa, Rachel, Allie and a special Thank You to Julia.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 25, 2025 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV 26037 and again on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 10:00A.M. until the time of service at 11:00A.M.
Interment will follow at Brooke Cemetery in Wellsburg, WV where she will be laid to rest beside her loving husband.
In leu of Flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wellsburg Christian Church.
