Ruth L. Hanlin, 102, of Toronto, OH, passed away Monday evening, December 30, 2024, at her home.
Ruth was born July 27, 1922, in Barberton, OH, daughter of the late Price and Ella (Poe) Rayl.
Ruth was a graduate, and the last living member of her class of Wayne High School in Bloomingdale. She was a homemaker, and she attended the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
She had a deep love and faith in God. Ruth spent the last several years crocheting lap blankets for cancer patients at the Teramana Cancer Center in Steubenville.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, William B. 'Bill' Hanlin Sr. (2005); infant son, Jerry Lee; son, William Burton Hanlin Jr.; daughters, Nadine McEwen and Patricia Ellen Clark; siblings, Isabelle Dear, Leona Schaffer, Glenna Riddle, Marvin Rayl, Valerie Hahn, Elva Plantz, Hannah Rayl and Curt Rayl.
She leaves behind a brother, Paul (Mary Lou) Rayl of E. Springfield, OH; sister, Joyce Adams of Hartville, OH; son-in-law and caregiver, Frank McEwen Jr. of Toronto; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great- great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 3 at 1 p.m. in the Bloomingdale Cemetery with Ruth's sister, Joyce, officiating. A remembrance service will be held at a later date.
