JAMES BROWN

James Michael Brown, "Jim," age 93, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025, at Moultrie Creek Health and Rehab Center in St. Augustine, Florida. A devoted husband, father, stepfather, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Jim's warmth and passion for family and sports left a lasting impact.

Born in Steubenville, Ohio, Jim excelled in academics and football at Saint Vincent Preparatory School before playing as an offensive lineman at the University of Nebraska under coach Bill Glassford. He cherished playing alongside his brother, Jerry, and was a proud Sigma Alpha Epsilon member.

Following in his father's footsteps, Jim built a successful career in insurance at James H. Brown and Associates, earning national recognition before taking over the business. A die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he loved sports, competitive debates, cars, and the stock market.

Jim was born on August 25, 1931, to the late James H. and Mary Francis Brown. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Jean A. Brown, and his brother Gerald "Jerry" Brown.

He is survived by his sister, Patricia Woomer; His children: Stephanie Daniel (Ron), Michael Brown (Carol), John Brown (Wendy), Jennifer Atkinson, and Joan Brown; Stepchildren: Stephanie Arthur, Michele Boyd, Steve Binkiewicz (Debbie), and David Binkiewicz; and 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grand- children, who will cherish his legacy forever.

A memorial mass will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in St. Augustine, FL, on Saturday, February 15, 9:00am, followed by a private burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville.
