ROBERT JACKSON

Robert Lee “Bob” Jackson, 72, of Belmont, OH, formerly of Toronto, OH, passed away March 10, 2025, at Liza’s Place at Valley Hospice, Wheeling, WV surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 19, 1952, in Rochester, PA, a son of the late James Richard Jackson and Twila Jackson Seckman.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-father, Arthur Richard Seckman; stepmother, Maureen Jackson; brother, Lonnie Dale Kirpatrick; sister, Debbie Jackson; loving in laws, Laddie E. Merritt and Lila Louise Miller Merritt.

Bob graduated in 1972 from South Side Area High School.

Bob was a man of many talents and interests. He attended the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy from 1972-1973 and was the first male to graduate from the Beaver Falls, PA location. From 1973-1987 he worked for Crecent Brick Co. For over 39 years, Bob created floral masterpieces and was well known for his floral designs. He owned and operated Bob’s Floral Design and Mildred’s Florists. He lent his talents to various other floral shops and made many special friends along the way. In 2008, he worked for Halloween City and Party City Inc., where he retired in 2016.

Bob was a member of Bell Chapel Methodist Church and First Baptist Church of Steubenville. He took great pride in decorating the churches for Fall, Christmas season, and the Easter Season.

Bob always loved spending time with his grandchildren and they were the light of his life. He enjoyed attending all their school programs and dance recitals. Bob said, “My wife and I have always done for our grandchildren, they are our life”.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Shelli (Merritt) Jackson; sons, Ryan (Heidi Kemp) Jackson and Kasey Harris; daughter, Amanda Brandenburgh Harris; grandchildren, Madisyn Nicole and Aiden James Jackson, Aurora Maryn and Gryffin Isaiah Pesta, Victoria and Abbey Brandenburgh; siblings, James, David, and Tim Jackson, David (LaRena) Reed, Shawn Seckman, Kim Kirpatrick, and Susan (Joe) Sutton; father-in-law, Ellwood “Ladde” Merritt; siblings-in-law Vicki Scott, Cathy Merritt, Helayna Merritt, Stacey Strawn, Rhonda (Bob) Howell, Todd (Penny) Merritt, and Bruce Merritt; special “daughters” Justine Medley Jackson and Julie Scott; many special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews too numerous to mention.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 AM with Pastor John Westling officiating.

Burial will follow at Center Chapel Cemetery, Steubenville.
