Rose Marie (Eggett) Homono, 93 of Follansbee, WV, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at the Wellsburg Healthcare Center under the care of the staff with the assistance of Amedisys Hospice.
Rose was born on April 7, 1931 in Weirton, WV. She was the daughter of the late Sandor and Julia (Fredik) Egyed.
Rose was the owner and operator of the Velvet Club, Follansbee, WV for 24 years. Many will remember Rose for her love of gardening and painting; but most of all, being an amazing house cleaner, always keeping her house and the Velvet Club spotless.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Homono, a daughter, Joyce Moore and husband, William and her siblings.
Rose is survived by her son, Thomas Homono and his wife, Anna Gastright Homono, five grandchildren, Amber Mann and husband, Justin, Michele Lynn Myauo, Brian Alexander Moore, wife, Betsy, Aimee Marie Giammittorio, husband, David and Carrie Ann Skaff, husband, Adam, three step grandchildren, Hilary Gagham, Cecily Nolan and Carson Nolan, 14 great grandchildren, a sister, Anne Vasikalis and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 10:00 until time of Liturgy of the Word at 11:00 AM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717 with Father Gerald Muoka, presiding.
Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, WV.
