JUDITH FORTUNATO

Judith Jaye Fortunato, 80, (our beloved Aunt Chick) of Steubenville, Ohio passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025.
Born March 6, 1945 to the late Samuel and Mary Cashioli Fortunato. She is also preceded in death by her brother Samuel Fortunato; three sisters Marianne Blanc, Shirley Fortunato, Carmel “Dolly” Senatore, brothers-in-law Anthony Senatore and Art Blanc, and grand niece Athena Elizabeth Senatore.
As a high school graduate of Catholic Central in 1963 she continued on to earn her undergraduate degree from the Franciscan University of Steubenville. From there, her studies continued at UCLA where she earned her Masters of Education (Magna Cum Laude) in 1968. Judy returned home to Steubenville to pursue her teaching career at the Indian Creek School District, where she taught for nearly 40 years.
To know Judy is to know kindness and love. Her heart knew no boundaries for her family and close friends.
Surviving are nephews, Craig (Allyson) Senatore; Art Blanc and Greg (Beth) Blanc; nieces, Ronna (Marty) Cernelich and Beth (David) Scott; and great nieces and nephews, Corwin, Arya, Ethan Senatore; Ryan, Michael, Danielle Blanc; Kaitlin and Brady Cernelich; Kara and David Scott; Berkley and Gregory Blanc.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:00 am until 11:30 am at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will follow at 12:00 pm at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fr. Matthew Gossett will celebrate. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
