BEULAH “BUNNY” BALLARD

Beulah “Bunny” D. Ballard, 95, of Weirton, WV, passed Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Hope Cottage, Weirton. She was born June 23, 1929 in Moundsville, WV, daughter of the late Jesse Lawrence Keenan and Bertha Antill Keenan. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Doyle Payne Ballard (2009); daughter, Barbara Lynn Blackwell (2021) (late Richard); brothers, Howard Keenan, Elwood Keenan, Rev. Robert “Bob” Keenan, Larry Keenan (late Karen), and Rev. Jesse Loyal Keenan (late Eileen); sister, Linda Cunningham (late Bill); and sister-in-law, Rose Keenan.

Beulah and Doyle were married January 11, 1947 in Cross Roads, WV. After moving to Weirton, they were dedicated members of the Voice of Pentecost Church in Weirton for many years. Beulah, lovingly known in the church as Sister Ballard, was very active in the church community and activities. She held most church offices throughout her lifetime and was a faithful, loving woman. Beulah was also a healthcare worker at Weirton General Hospital and Weirton Medical Center. She loved caring for people daily and developed lifelong friendships from former patients.

Beulah is survived by her loving granddaughters, Penny Tibbs (Rick), Shannon Geer (Russell), and step granddaughter, Amy Damis; great grandchildren, Matthew Waggoner (Ashley), Tyler Wright (Tiffany Rosnick), Levi Wright, Shane Geer (Lacy), Garrett Geer, Justin Damis, Clarissa Damis, Katelyn Haspel, and Allyson Haspel; great great grandchildren, Gavin, Kannon, Gage and Arya; brother, Darrell Keenan; and sister-in- law, Edith Keenan.

Visitation will take place Friday, June 13, from 3-6pm, at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, 380 Penco Road, Weirton. Funeral service will be Saturday at 11am, at Voice of Pentecost Church, 106 Mendenhall, Street, Weirton, with Pastor Rob Holley presiding. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
