LARRY GUIO

Larry Joseph Guio, of Weirton, WV, passed away on July 11, 2025. He was born on July 10, 1952, in Steubenville, OH, to the late William Guio and Mary Julia (Balich) Guio Ferguson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Frank E. Ferguson, and his nephew and godson, Aaron J. Guio.

Larry was a 1970 graduate of Weir High School and graduated cum laude in 1974 from the Marshall School of Business with a degree in marketing. He was a lifetime member of the Alumni Association and a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, the professional business fraternity. He was also a lifelong and faithful member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Weirton.

Larry was a member of the 25-Year Club and retired in 2006 after 30 years of service at Weirton Steel (later Mittal Steel).

He enjoyed wading in creeks while fishing for bass, deer hunting, bike riding, and taking morning walks. He was an avid fan of the Steelers, Pirates, Penguins, and the Marshall Thundering Herd.

Larry is survived by his brother, Gary Guio, and sister-in-law, Cheryl Bennett Guio; one niece, two great-nieces, and two great-nephews. He is also survived by his significant other, Debra (Jones) Moore.

Funeral services were held on Thursday July 17, 2025 at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home.

He was laid to rest at the Saint Nicholas Church Cemetery.

Fr. Ted Shomsky presided.
