RONALD (RONNIE) LODGE

Ronald G. (Ronnie) Lodge (92) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the Golden Oaks residential home.

Ronnie was born on November 18, 1932, in Follansbee, West Virginia.

He was the only son of the late Eunice Simons and George Lodge.

Following school, ronnie proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Upon his return from the service, Ronnie embarked on a work career that spanned 60+ years. Ronnie was known as a very hard worker. As a young man, Ronnie worked at various jobs such as construction and as a projectionist at the former Rex Movie Theater in Follansbee. He worked the last 40 years of his career for the city of Follansbee.

Ronnie loved to ride Harley Davidson motorcycles throughout his life and enjoyed creating brilliantly colored personal designs on the cars and trucks that he owned.

During his free time Ronnie liked to watch westerns on TV and listen to country music. He loved the Ohio River his whole life and purchased a house right on the Ohio River bank. In his younger years, Ronnie enjoyed swimming in the river. In his later years Ronnie would sit by the river on cool summer nights and listen to his favorite country singers, especially Hank Williams.

Everyone who knew Ronnie knew how much he really loved cats. After his daily morning trips to McDonald’s, Ronnie would spend hours feeding homeless cats throughout the town.

Ronnie will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation for Ronnie will be held on Friday, August 29th, from 12:00 noon until the time of his celebration of life service at 1:00 p.m. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home located at 669 Main Street, Follansbee, WV with the Rev. Timothy Colvin officiating.

Full military honors will be conducted by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad and the Army Honor Guard. Graveside services will follow at Oak Grove cemetery.
