WILLIAM “BILL” PLANT

William “Bill” W. Plant, 91, of East Springfield, OH, passed away unexpectedly on August 5, 2025, at Weirton Medical Center.
He was born on December 20, 1933 in East Springfield, OH, a son of the late George W. and Lola (Call) Plant.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his infant brother, George; brother, Kenneth; and sister, Doris Culp.
Bill was a member of the East Springfield Christ United Methodist Church.
He was a member of the Unionport Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star. Bill was a founding member of East Springfield Fire Department. He owned and operated Plant’s Digging and Hauling. After 38 years, Bill retired from Weirton Steel, where he worked as a foreman at the 54-inch strip steel.
Bill had a deep passion for antique cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles–a love that ran through his veins like the roar of an engine on an open road. He took great pride in his unique collection, which included a striking stainless steel ’57 Thunderbird, a classic ’55 Ford Crown Victoria, and the iconic pink Playboy Mustang. Each vehicle wasn’t just a car, but a reflection of Bill’s character-distinctive, full of life, and unforgettable.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Janice (Rowe) Plant; daughters, Tammy (Tom) Straka; Charlene Plant; sister, Myrna (Tom) Denny; grandchildren, B.J.
