SHIRLEY PHILLIPSON-HUSCROFT

Shirley Phillipson- Huscroft died September 13, 2025 at her home. She was born June 20, 1929 in Steubenville, a daughter of the late Harry F. Phillipson and Eva Fonow Phillipson.
Shirley was a founding member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Wintersville, a mem- ber of that CWC, where she had served as President in 1955, and a member of the St. Francis Society. She was a Charter member of the Academy of Lifelong Learning at Franciscan University where she served on the board. She was a member of the Jefferson County Historical Association, The Old Fort Steuben Project, the Upper Ohio Valley Opera Guild and YMCA.
She was a 10 year volunteer for Charity Hospice. She had been employed as Secretary for Carpenter’s Local Union #186 of Steubenville and Dr. Ralph Rea.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Huscroft, November 28, 2005, who she had married on May 28, 1952. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Phillipson. She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Huscroft of Richmond, OH, and Valerie (Dave) Scharfeld of Parma, OH, a grandson, Thomas Moses, a great grandson, Landon Charles, two sisters, Franciscan Sister Jean Phillipson of Holy Family Convent Manitowoc, WI, Ruth Koran, of Columbus, OH, a sister-in-law, Mary Frances “Marsha” Phillipson of Bloomingdale, OH, beloved nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and dear friends.
Friends will be received for visitation at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd, Wintersville, Ohio, on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 4-7 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be held the following day, Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 10 A.M. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 852 Main St, Wintersville, Ohio. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Blessed Sacrament Church or Holy Family Convent in Manitowoc, WI.
