TINA M. TATE

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Tina M (Chambers) Tate, who left us peacefully on September 18, 2025, at the age of 63. Tina was born on March 9, 1962, in Weirton, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Chambers and Vera Crago. She lived most of her life in New Cumberland, WV.

Tina was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hugh C. Tate Sr., in 2012. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family — the center of Tina’s world.

She is survived by her three loving children and their spouses: Amanda (Steve) McKinney, Hugh (Jordan) Tate Jr., and Jennifer (Brian) Cunningham. She was affectionately known as “Gaga” to her six grandchildren, who brought her immense joy: Madelynn and Karsynn McKinney, Easton and Emerie Cunningham, and Niko and Demi Tate.

Tina is also survived by her sister, Ellen (Virgil)Wickham; brothers, Alvin and John (Cindy) Chambers; and sisters-in-law, Judy Virden and Jane Tate.

Tina dedicated over 40 years of service to Kroger before retiring in 2021 due to her health. She also gave her time as the bookkeeper for the New Cumberland Cemetery Association from 1999 to 2012 — always someone who quietly supported her community with loyalty and heart.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to their “earthly angel,” Linda Maharick, for the love, care, and compassion she showed Tina over the last year and a half. Her presence was a true gift.

Tina’s strength, warmth, and unconditional love touched everyone who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and devotion to her family that will continue to inspire those who loved her most.

Friends and family will be received on Monday, September 22nd from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday, September 23rd from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Visitation and service will be held at the Turley Funeral Home LLC, New Cumberland WV.
