ALICE DUCKWORTH

She was born on August 30, 1921, in Shirley, WV, one of seven children of the late Riley M. and Birda Baker Wright. She was a proud honors graduate of the Tyler County High School Class of 1940.

Alice married Clarence “Ducky” Duckworth, Together, they made their home in Weirton, WV, where Ducky worked for Weirton Steel and Alice built a long career as a sales associate with Sears,

Alice loved exercise and remained dedicated to her fitness well into her late 80s, making daily visits to the Millsop Community Center.

Alice was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed accompanying her husband to Masonic Lodge events, as well as Osiris Shrine and Tin Lizzy Patrol gatherings.

She was a member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Ducky” Duckworth; her son, Perry Duckworth (January 25, 2025); her daughter, Barbara Ann Duckworth; her brothers, Lester and Orin Wright; and her sisters, Nina Wright, Cleo Weekley, Enabell Davis, and Vivian McKimmie.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Henry) Zuccolotto; daughter-in-law, Mary Duckworth; her grandsons, Michael (Tina) Duckworth, Kurt (Rachel) Duckworth, Justin (Polina) Zuccolotto, and Brent Zuccolotto; ten great- grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchild- ren.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 2 PM to 5 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will follow at 5 PM with Rev. Larry Barkley officiating.

Interment will be at the Shirley United Methodist Church Cemetery in Shirley, WV.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Northern Panhandle Shrine Club Children’s Travel Fund or to the American Cancer Society.
