DONA GASTON
Dona Gaston, 78, of New Manchester, passed away on October 18, 2025. She was born in Cincinnati on February 13, 1947, the daughter of the late Nelson and Mary (Boeskin) Courtney Sr. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mandy Finch, a brother, Nelson Courtney Jr. and an infant brother.
Dona, attended the Mercy Baptist Church, she was a retired Bus Driver for Hancock County Schools, serving for 28 years. She was an associate member of the New Manchester Vol. Fire Department, a member of the Sheriff’s Reserves, and Tomlinson Run State Park Foundation.
She is survived by her Companion of 40 years, Roger Stewart Sr. at home, two daughters, Melissa (Rodney) Glaze, of Cincinnati and Michelle DeGarmo of New Cumberland; a son, Michael (Amber) Boeckmann, of Martinsburg; two step-sons, Roger (Jessica) Stewart Jr. of New Manchester and Michael (Samantha) Stewart of Fairmont. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Jason, Jessica, Andrew, Collin, Fisher, Tanner, RJ and Amber; several great- grandchildren and great-great-grand children and a sister- in-law, Tammy Courtney. She is also survived by a canine companion, Rusty.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, October 24, 2025 at the Nixon Funeral Home of Newell from 4 pm. to 7 pm. where Funeral service will be held on Saturday, at 10 am. The family request no flowers and ask that memorial donations be made to the Tomlinson Run Foundation for a memorial bench in her name.
