MILDRED “MICKEY” MARTICH

Born November 7, 1931, in Weirton, she was one of three daughters born to Joe and Milica Divich Wujnovich.

A graduate of Weir High School, Class of 1949, Mickey faithfully served as Class Reunion Treasurer for many years. Her deep faith was central to her life as a lifelong member of Holy Resurrection Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church in Steubenville, where she was also a former member of the Petar Krstich Choir for many years.

Mickey married Korean War veteran, George Martich, with whom she shared 65 wonderful years until his passing on October 20, 2018. George served as the Vice President of the former Bank of Weirton and Mickey cared for their home. Together they were blessed with two sons, four grandchildren and a great grandson.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mickey was preceded in death by her sisters, Smiles Zarich and Jenny Musulin; and her niece, Melissa Rosato.

She will be remembered with love and admiration by her sons John (Juka) Martich and Dr. G. Daniel (Lisa) Martich; grandchildren Milan, George (Monica), Aleksander, and Dr. Stephanie Martich; her great-grandson Gino George Martich; many nieces, nephews, Kumovi, and dear friends.

Visitation will be 4-8 PM on Wednesday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV.

A pomen service will be conducted at 7 PM on Wednesday in the funeral home.

Additional visitation will be held on Thursday from 10 AM until the time of the funeral liturgy at 11 AM at the Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Church in Steubenville.

The Very Rev. Fr. Rajko Kosic will preside.

Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
