BETTY HASLEY

Betty June Hasley, 93, of Rayland, OH, joined her husband and son in Heaven on January 9, 2026.

Betty was born on June 15, 1932, daughter of the late Robert and Audrey (Hendershot) Patterson. In addition to her husband, Gerald, and her son, Wayne, Betty was preceded in death by siblings Nancy, Shirley, William, Ruby, and Delbert.

In addition to Betty’s most cherished work as a homemaker, mother, and caretaker, she was active in the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and the Social Order of the Beauceant, as well as the Eastern Stars. Betty also worked for the Jefferson County Fair Board and volunteered at the Smithfield Food Pantry. She was also an award-winning gardener and baker.

Betty will be deeply missed by granddaughter Monica (Michael) Hollen and niece Stephanie Allen, who had the privilege of serving as caretakers in Betty’s final years. She will also be missed by great-grandchildren Maxson, Melina, Avery, Remington, and Carter; along with sisters, Golda Smith and Jean Jackson; sister-in-law. Clara (Howard) McClure, and a host of nieces and nephews. Also surviving are granddaughters Rachael and Olivia.

Betty’s family would like to thank the staff of Southern Care Hospice and the Laurels of Steubenville for the loving care they provided.

Visitation is set for Wednesday, January 14 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4-7 p.m. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home, Smithfield, OH, with Beauceant services at 4 p.m. and Eastern Star at 6:30 p.m. Betty’s funeral is Thursday at 10 a.m., officiated by Tiffany Manley, with burial in Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerain, OH.
