Paul T. Rayl, Sr., age 90, of East Springfield, passed away peacefully at home on January 1, 2026.
Paul was born on March 27, 1935, to Price and Ella (Poe) Rayl. He was preceded in death by his Parents, 9 Siblings, and 2 Grandchildren. He proudly served his country for 20 years in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Air Force, a commitment that reflected his deep sense of duty, discipline, and love for his nation.
A hardworking and devoted family man, Paul spent his life providing for the family he was so very proud of. He was known for his great sense of humor, his love of storytelling, and the way he never met a stranger. Paul had a gift for conversation and connection, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Mary Rayl; his children, Paul Rayl, Jr. (Vickie), John Rayl (Susan), Roberta Rayl (Larry Mitchell), Mary Russell (Bill McElroy), Bobbie Coombes (Chris Cote), and Billie Barz. Many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. His Sister Joyce Adams. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed.
