Steven Eric Kuritz, 66, of Hoback, Wyoming died at home unexpectedly on December 6, 2025 following a brief illness. He was born in Weirton, West Virginia on March 24, 1959, to the late Martin and Irene Jaworsky Kuritz.
He grew up on Devils Den Road in Paris, Pennsylvania and graduated from Burgettstown High School in 1977 before joining the United States Navy. Steve enjoyed hunting, carpentry, and fixing things. He was very resourceful but liked to keep to himself and eventually found a forever home in the mountains of Wyoming where he lived for the past several decades. He had many different jobs over the years. He was a taxi driver, scratch baker, construction worker, mason, and truck driver. He enjoyed the company of a few close friends and a local church group.
Steve is survived by his brother Patrick in Phoenix, Arizona, sister, Anndrea Rogers and husband Art in Morgantown, West Virginia, two nephews, Jesse and Jacob Rogers, and brother Martin and wife Angie in Seattle, Washington.
Cremation services were provided by Grand Teton Funeral Home, Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
