PATRICIA CAMPBELL

Patricia Hinkle Campbell of Toronto, Ohio, who passed away Saturday, February 14, 2026, lived a life filled with love, dedication, and service to her family, community, and faith. Born to Harold F. and Kathryn B. Hinkle, on February 9, 1929, Patricia cherished her roots and carried forward the values of hard work and integrity instilled by her parents and grandparents.

A 1947 graduate of Toronto High School, Patricia furthered her education at Steubenville Business College. In 1949, she began her professional journey at the law firm of Smith, Francis, and Irvine, where she met her future husband, William D. Campbell, a young law student working there for the summer. Their love story was the foundation of a beautiful life together.

Patricia joined the Toronto School District in 1950 as an assistant to Superintendent Delton B. Metzger, a position she held for thirteen years before stepping away to focus on raising her son, David H. Campbell. In the 1970s, she returned to the workforce, running the Campbell Hinkle Insurance Agency with determination and grace until the mid-1980s.

Her faith was a cornerstone of her life as a lifelong member of the Empire Community Church. Patricia contributed to every aspect of church life, from teaching Sunday school and singing in the choir to participating in committees and fellowship groups. She spent many cherished years at her cottage at the Hollow Rock Campground, building memories with family and friends and nurturing her spiritual journey.

Patricia was also proud to support the Pat Campbell Fighting Cancer 5K Run/Walk, an event named in honor of her late husband, which continues to raise funds and awareness in the fight against cancer.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Campbell; her parents, Harold F. and Kathryn B. Hinkle; her grandparents, George and Bessie Ward Hinkle, and V. V. and Nora Bell Williamson.

Patricia is survived by her son, David H. Campbell, and her cousin, Alan Fidak.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of The Gables Care Center in Hopedale, Ohio, Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, West Virginia, and Valley Hospice in Steubenville, Ohio for their compassionate care during Patricia’s later years.
