BARBARA JEAN WRKICH
Barbara Jean Wrkich, 94, of Steubenville, Ohio peacefully passed away on April 9, 2026 at The Wyngate Senior Living Community in Weirton, WV. Barbara was born on July 4, 1931 in Steubenville, Ohio the daughter of the late Kenneth Halley & the late Wilma Campbell Johnston. She graduated from Wintersville High School in 1950 and was a founding member of Starkdale Presbyterian Church.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Louis Wrkich, whom she married on August 25, 1950. Their marriage ceremony was the first wedding ceremony celebrated at Starkdale Presbyterian Church. She is also preceded in death by her father who raised Barbara, Hugh Johnston and brother Ronald Johnston.
Barbara is survived by her children Bonnie (Jack) Giusto, Gregory (Penny) Wrkich & Lisa (Kenny) Wells; grandchildren Ryan (Mary Lil) Giusto, Natalie (Todd) Ujcich, Staci Copeland, Alyssa (Brynly) Marsh, Kelly (Chelsea) Wells & Kera (Sam) Taliani and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Tuesday from 12 p.m. until the time of services at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dr. G. Carl Moore officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery.
