BROOKS UNDERWOOD

Brooks Underwood

Brooks Randal Underwood, 46, of Clarksburg, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at United Hospital Center, with his family by his side. Born on March 19, 1980, in Clarksburg, Brooks was the son of the late Sheila Ann (Yeater) Underwood, who passed on May 12, 2022, and Randal “Randy” Brice Underwood and his wife, Anita, who survive. Brooks was a witty and compassionate man who deeply loved his family and all the people he quickly came to call friends along the way. He never knew a stranger and would happily strike up a conversation with anyone, truly enjoying the connection. He loved phone calls– especially with his Aunt Darlene–and cherished visits with his family. You could always count on him asking for a hug and reminding you that he loved you. An avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Brooks enjoyed watching just about any sport. It was common to find him watching a game or enjoying wrestling during a visit. Brooks had a wonderful sense of humor and loved a good knock-knock joke. His favorite “trick” was asking for a fist bump, only to pull away and laugh, saying, “Too slow!” If you ever asked him if he needed anything, his answer was always the same: a chocolate milkshake and pizza. He was a proud and loving big brother, always reminding his sister to “be good.” He also shared a special bond with his brother-in-law, one that meant a great deal to him. Brooks often expressed how much he missed his mother, who preceded him in death, and he recently felt the loss of his pap. It brings comfort to know they are now rejoicing together in heaven, whole again. In addition to his father and stepmother, Brooks is survived by his sister, Angelina Mullins and her husband, Dustin; his aunt and uncle, Darlene McCasland and her husband, Jeffrey; and many special aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Brooks and Nancy Hayes Yeater; his paternal grandparents, Herald and Irene Greathouse Underwood; and his uncle, William “Bill” Yeater. Family and friends will be received at Davis Funeral Home – Salem, 1999 W. Main Street, Salem, on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 1:00 PM until the Celebration of Life Service at 6:30 PM, with family officiating. Private interment will follow at a later date at St. Johns Cemetery in Collier, WV. Online condolences may be shared at www.Davis FuneralHomeSalem WV.com.
