MINNIE ANDERSON
Minnie Sylvia Hartley Anderson, 86, of Colliers, WV, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 24, 194×0, in Colliers, a daughter of the late Foster and Grace (Evans) Hartley.
In addition to her parents, Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Andy “Hobbs” Anderson; her daughter, Karen Swiger; her brothers, Lee Hartley (Nora), Roger Hartley (Nancy), Elzie Hartley (Mary), and Robert Hartley; and her sisters, Mildred Hartley, Alice Carpenter (Harold), Eldene Hartley, and Velma Hartley.
Minnie dedicated many years of her life working as a cook at the Weirton Diner and later as a spot welder at Colliers Steel. She was a woman of Christian faith, known for her honesty and straightforward nature. Minnie enjoyed life to the fullest and especially cherished the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann Minger (Jack); her sons, Tom Swiger (Deena) and Clinton Simms (April); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her brother, Lester Hartley (Edith).
In accordance with Minnie’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Weirton, WV.
