Barbara Gilbert, 85, of Steubenville, died on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Sienna Skilled Care in Wintersville surrounded by her family. She was born June 4, 1940 in Steubenville, a daughter of the late Frank and Elsie Parks Ohle, Jr.
She worked in several area restaurants including: Spanky’s which is now Murray’s and Frederico’s. She was a member of the Unionport Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death in addition to her parents; by her husband, Harold Gilbert; her grandson, Matthew J. Adams; brother, Bill and his wife Linda; brother-in-law, Lee Grable and sister-in-law, Carol.
Surviving is her daughter, Sally (John) Adams of Wintersville; her son, Cary (Sucora) Gilbert of Lancaster; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; her siblings: Bob (Pandy), Tom (Kay), Dick (Peaches), Jim, Ruth Grable, Betty Reitz and Sue (Bill) Kirkpatrick.
Calling hours will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. until service at 1:00 p.m. Burial at Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale, Ohio.
