WILLIAM ‘BILL’ PARRISH
WILLIAM 'BILL' PARRISH
William “Bill” Parrish, 75 of Richmond, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on April 25, 2026. He was born July 25, 1950 in Steubenville, Ohio and was preceded in death by his parents Clarence “Red” Parrish, Frances “Liz” Parrish, his sisters Elizabeth Sankey, Roberta “Kay” Finney, and his brother in law, John Finney.
He is survived by his beloved daughters, Kimberly (Bob) Cherepko and Holli (Don) Carney, and his grandchildren Haley, Natalie, Robbie, and Braxton who were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his brother in law John Sankey, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and great friends.
A graduate of Jefferson Union High School, Class of 1968, Bill enlisted in the United States Marine Corp upon graduation serving from June 25 1968 – June 11, 1974. Serving with the 7th Engineer Battalion (Rein) in the Vietnam War from March of 1969 – March of 1970.
Bill retired from the Bricklayers Union in 2006 and enjoyed spending his retirement riding Harley Davidsons, working and rebuilding various vehicles, gardening, spending “happy hour” with friends, and of course spending time with his family. His favorite title was “Pappy” and he never passed up an opportunity to be with his grandchildren. Whether it was hanging out at home, shopping, swimming, attending events, traveling to Kentucky, or (his favorite) oceanfront at St. Pete’s Beach, being with his family was his biggest blessing.
A private service will be held at a later date.
