EMMA CROSS

Born December 13, 1934, in Steubenville, OH a daughter of the late Willie and Mary (Jones) Reed. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her stepmother Snow Reed, her husband, Robert “Jack” Cross and her daughter Nancy Mitchell.

Emma graduated from Follansbee High School class of 1952 and Steubenville Secretarial School. She worked for many years at Tri-State Manufacturing as a bookkeeper. Emma was a member of Refocus Church of Christ in Follansbee, WV for many years. She held memberships in the 20th Century Club, the Red Hats Society, and the Steubenville Quilting Group. In her spare time, she was always learning something new in the arts and crafts.

Emma is survived by her loving husband, Denzil Stoneking, three children, James (Carol) Cross of Sherwood Arkansas, Judith (John) Whisman of Palmer, Alaska, and Roberta Cross and husband Jose’ Me’ndez of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, a son-in-law, Arley (Margie) Mitchell of Wellsburg, WV; 11 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 3-6 p.m. and again on Monday, June 29 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV with Rev. Rudy McAllister officiating.

Entombment will follow in Highland Hills Memorial Gardens in Follansbee, WV.
