PEGGY COTTRILL

Peggy Cottrill, 71, of Weirton, West Virginia, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at WVU Weirton Medical Center. Born on July 27, 1954, in Weirton, she was the daughter of the late Glen V. “Bob” Cottrill and Gwendolyn Hope Schayes Cottrill.

A proud graduate of Weir High School’s Class of 1972, Peggy dedicated nearly 50 years of service to Convenient Food Mart before retiring. She was a devoted sports fan who faithfully cheered for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Pittsburgh Steelers, while also remaining a lifelong supporter of the New York Jets since the days of Joe Namath.

Peggy treasured the time she spent with her family and friends, especially gathering with her close-knit monthly dinner group. Her warmth, loyalty, and love for those around her will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by her sister, Camille Pialet (Eugene); her brother, Greg Cottrill; her niece, Jennifer Pence (David); her nephew, Scott Pialet; her great-nephews, Austin Smith and Zowyn Vanhorn; as well as many beloved cousins.

In accordance with Peggy’s wishes, no visitation will be held. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Weirton. Peggy will be inurned beside her parents at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
