Philomina “Midge” Woodside, 89, passed on Friday, July 24, 2026.
She was born February 24, 1937 in Monongahela, PA to the late A.V. and Josephine (Pagano) Capano. Midge was a graduate of Mount Mercy College (Carlow University) with a degree in Elementary Education and certification in Learning Disabilities. She was retired from teaching in the Toronto City School District and a substitute in the Plain Local Schools. She was in the St. Michael Ensemble and was a member of the Jackson Township Lions Club. Midge loved traveling in warm climates and visiting casinos.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 66 years, John; children, Robert (Denise) Woodside, Beth Ensell, and Patrick Woodside; grandchildren, Brittany (Rob) Blecke, Blake (Bess) Wollam, and Tanner (Taylor) Ensell; and great-grandchildren, Levi and Charlotte Blecke.
Visitation will be held at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Road NW, Canton, OH 44718 on Thursday July 30, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with an additional visitation on Friday July 31, 2026, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Michael’s Catholic Church, 3430 St Michaels Blvd NW, Canton, OH 44718 on Friday July 31, 2026 at 11:00 am.
