Carolyn Malesky, mother, grandmother and cherished friend passed away peacefully at the Weirton Geriatric Center on August 9, 2026, at the age of 87.
Born on February 3, 1939, in Weirton, she was a daughter of Joseph and Tina Marino.
A 1957 graduate of Weir High School, Carolyn embarked on a fulfilling career as a C&P Operator, and she was well-known for her work at Marlinn Shoe Store, additionally, Carolyn, along with her sister Darlene, owned Greco Hair Fashions.
Carolyn's passion for cooking and hosting her family on Christmas Eve was a long-time tradition that was anticipated by all. She furthered her love for food and sharing with others by demonstrating at local supermarkets.
Carolyn married Amel Malesky, on May 11, 1973. Together, they built a wonderful life filled with love and laughter until Amel's passing on February 1, 2015.
A member of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America, Carolyn's vibrant spirit was evident in her love for cooking and sharing her famous cookies. She cherished her grandchildren, often attending their sporting events to cheer them on. Games of BINGO brought her immense joy, and she created treasured memories on her several trips to Italy and annual vacations to Myrtle Beach with her family.
A follower of the Roman Catholic faith, Carolyn found solace and community within the walls of St. Paul's Parish. Her faith guided her throughout her life, nurturing her compassion for others.
In addition to her parents and husband Amel, Carolyn was preceded in death by her brothers James, Billy, Anthony, Charles, and Nathaniel Marino, sisters Josephine Orenzuk, Rosalie and Anne Marino,
Carolyn is survived by her son, Rick (Tina) Earley of Wintersville, stepson Jeff (Vicki) Malesky of Columbus, grandchildren Jake (Suzy), Dana, Will and Gianna, brother William Marino, sister Darlene Sessi, plus many nieces and nephews.
Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church.
Rev. Fr. Binu Sebastian will preside.
Entombment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery.
