Jerry Alan Matics, 62, of Amsterdam, Ohio, passed away on August 22, 2026.
He was born on November 4, 1963, in Steubenville, Ohio, to Betty (Pepperling) Matics and the late Dale Matics.
In addition to his mother, Betty, Jerry is also survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Susan (Cagot) Matics; his children, Jeremy (Emily) Matics and Marissa (Tyler) Roush; his brothers, Jeff (Diane) and Joe (Diane) Matics; his sister, Laurie (Christopher) Shepherd; and his grandchildren, Quinn, J.J., and Riley Matics and Kamden and Raegan Roush.
Jerry was a car enthusiast, lover of Chevelles, drag racing, coin collecting, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He loved his wife, kids, grandkids, and all his family and friends. He would help anyone in need. He loved the ocean and spending time on the beach. He also enjoyed spending time in his garage with his friends.
Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Road, Wintersville, Ohio, on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 3 p.m. until time of services at 6 p.m. with Pastor Tom Snodgrass officiating. Private burial will take place at a later date at East Spring Cemetery.
