Barbara Jane Cameron, Age 95, of Weirton, WV, was born May 5, 1931 to James Y., Sr. and Margaret H. Longacre, and died October 4, 2026 at Brightwood Care Center in Follansbee, WV. She passed peacefully in her sleep.
She graduated from Weir High School in 1949 and attended Nursing Training at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. Barbara was a Registered Nurse in hospitals across the country and retired in 2000.
She was married to Lloyd V. Campbell from Weirton from 1959 until his death in 1987. Later, in 1997, she married Crawford Cameron from Weirton until his death in 2000.
Barbara lived at Freedom Place II in Weirton from 2000 to 2024 when she moved to Brightwood Center. She was a member of Paris Presbyterian Church for several years.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she is preceded in death by her brother, James Y. Longacre, Jr. who passed in 2025. She leaves behind her daughters, Denise Campbell (Mike T. Miller) and Catherine Mulrooney; 6 grandchildren, Joy Charles, Jessica Baker, Jeremy Jinnett, Christina, Ellis, and Roberta; and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation will take place Thursday, October 8, from 4:00pm until the memorial service at 6:00pm, at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, Penco Road, Weirton, with Rev. Dr. Nadia Stropich presiding.
