Donald O. MacLachlan of Weirton passed away peacefully at Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville on Saturday, March 1, 2025. He was seventy-seven years old. He was born in Washington, D.C., on August 4, 1947, the only son of Donald and Thelma Louise Hoffman MacLachlan. Don graduated from Oxon Hill High School, in Forrest Heights, MD., in 1966. Don dedicated 37 years of his life working in the Blast Furnace at Weirton Steel, embodying the resilience and work ethic of the American steelworker. James Michael Shaffer, 75, of Toronto, OH, passed away February 28, 2024, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. Jim was born May 19, 1949, in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late Willis and Christine (Lamm) Shaffer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vickie L.
