Tailgate with the Weirton United Way
This Saturday will see the return of what has become one of the Weirton United Way’s largest fundraisers of the year.
Hundreds will be gathering at the Pepsi-Cola Roadhouse in Burgettstown for the eighth-annual Super Bowl Eve Tailgate event, donning their favorite football jerseys, eating a selection of food and other refreshments and taking a chance at winning a variety of gift baskets and other items up for grabs.
Doors open at 7 p.m. for the event, set for the night before professional football’s biggest event.
All proceeds of the evening will go toward the Weirton United Way’s 2018 campaign, which is working to raise $240,000 for the organization’s member agencies, all of which provide services to benefit the Weirton area.
There are 12 member agencies which rely on these funds to better serve our area. Those agencies are The American Red Cross of Northwest West Virginia, Catholic Charities West Virginia, Community Bread Basket, Dunbar Recreation Center, Healthways, RSVP, Hancock County Sheltered Workshop, Hancock County 4-H Foundation, Mary H. Weir Public Library, Salvation Army of Weirton, Weirton Medical Center and Weirton Christian Center.
This is a great evening, and we express our appreciation to the United Way’s campaign team and the event’s sponsors for their work in putting it together.
