Foundation continues support for community
For the last 20 years, the Hancock County Savings Bank Charitable Foundation has worked to support the community by giving back to area organizations and service projects.
That sense of giving continued earlier this week when the foundation awarded $44,000 in grants to 31 groups from the Tri-State Area.
What started with a $1 million investment has paid dividends for many, as more than 145 organizations have received funding since the foundation began. That reflects a total of $867,589 reinvested in our towns and people.
Each of our communities is different, with unique needs and programs. This year’s recipients is a reflection of those differences, with funding going to programs focusing on particular towns or looking over multiple counties.
They work with and honor our veterans, serve our senior citizens, provide vital services to those in need, support local youth athletes, enable educational opportunities, care for our residents in times of emergency, and much more.
Agencies receiving a boost this year operate throughout the Northern Panhandle, as well as parts of eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania, meaning there is the potential to impact the lives of thousands of area residents each year with these funds.
We thank those involved with all of these agencies for the work they do to serve our area, and we thank the Hancock County Savings Bank Charitable Foundation for continuing the recognize the value of what these groups do.
