Respect our flag
To the Editor,
Soon it will be Flag Day. This is a good time to recall the correct way to display the American flag.
My husband has always proudly flown the American flag at our home and has instilled in his family the significance and glory of our flag. In his lifetime, he followed all the American flag rules.
You will note that on special flag days, such as Memorial Day, the flag is first raised to the peak and then lowered to the half-staff. It should also be raised to the peak before lowering at the end of the day.
A complete flag should not be used on a costume or anything designed for temporary use and discard.
