What are we sacrificing?

To the Editor,

I am writing this letter as a spectator predicting the future.

There isn’t a single word, or many words, that can explain or solve what is happening in America or the world.

The COVID-19 spread to every nation in a matter of days. COVID-19 should be a wake-up call for what is to come in the future.

the 1918/19 Spanish Flu pandemic: The infected experienced typical symptoms as chills, very mild. By the summer of 1919, the flu pandemic came to an end. How? Those that were infected either died — between 20 million to 50 million — or developed immunity.

The first wave of COVID-19 has wiped out the vulnerable. The aged and sickly.

President Trump has said he will not permit another shut down. We have to get people back to work and the economy back.

The second wave of COVID-19 will do great harm to the vulnerable young.

School: Schools what are we going to do about our schools today? From the musical “The Music Man,” this isn’t about River City and it’s not about pool.

It’s about trying to get children from one through eighth grade to wear masks.

The rush for a vaccine: If we do not get it right, the side effects will be more detrimental than the virus.

The painful truth is coming. The sacrifice of our vulnerable children to save the economy.
