Bringing hope to Weirton
To the Editor,
We have hope.
On April 26, 2021, we had cake and ice cream to celebrate a milestone. We also had a wholesome free meal at the Table of Hope.
The Table of Hope has been serving the Weirton community for nine years. Table of Hope offers free dinners to anyone who comes to Weirton First United Methodist Church located at 3301 West St. on Mondays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Originally, Table of Hope served every weekday, but because of COVID only serves on Mondays.
For years, Table of Hope served over 50 meals every weekday to young and old clients. Attendance this year has dropped a lot.
Wonderful balanced meals are served with warm wishes from the cooks and volunteers.
Many friendships have been made at the Table of Hope.
Every meal is enjoyed with added surprises for special occasions by every dinner guest. Snack bags have been given to young children.
In need of clothing, Table of Hope has the Hope Project. Located in a corner is a clothesline of free clothes.
Table of Hope gives hope.
Please come to the Table of Hope and enjoy a meal with us. Don’t forget to wear a face mask.
At the Table of Hope, safety measures have been put in place for your well-being.
Thanks to the staff along with the businesses and organizations who support the Table of Hope.
Your dedication to Table of Hope is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your smile and sharing of hope.
