To the Editor,
The Republican State Executive Committee doesn't get much attention on the ballot, but it's an extremely important position.
Two men and two women represent our district at the state level in Charleston. Our district is the 1st Senatorial District, which is Hancock, Brooke, Ohio and most of Marshal counties. Among other responsibilities, committee members help form our party's platform and nominate replacements in the event an elected politician cannot finish their term in office.
I feel a great committee member should promote conservative ideals and principles, have open dialogues with current politicians, and recruit new conservative candidates for offices at every level. I believe that we should reach to out to people from all age groups and all walks of life...especially young people, to show by word and deed what conservatism really means. As conservatives, we need to strive for economic development, low taxes, and balanced budgets. We're the party that defends the police, the Second Amendment, and unborn babies. We want peace through strength, so we want a strong military, strong borders, and energy independence.
On the men's side, I'm running against five gentleman from the Wheeling area with the top two being elected. They may be good conservatives in their own right, but I'm asking for your vote and support. I will represent our region the very best I can and will do everything possible to help our Republican Party grow and thrive.
