A heartless act

2 min read

To the Editor,

This letter is in regards to a very deranged person. A coward, one with no morals or a soul. The one who chose to leave a cardboard box, on the side of the road, near Toronto, with three chocolate lab mix puppies in it.

Did you know that a car ran over the box and killed the two male puppies, but that the female somehow survived? She was discovered in that box, in shock, lying next to her litter mates. Does that make you feel good knowing how spineless you are to have left these poor, defenseless creatures, on the side of a road, facing their doom?

You are cruel and inhumane and there is a special place, in the afterlife, reserved for gutless people just like you.

There is this place and it is called an animal shelter. There is no shame in admitting that you don't have the means to care for an animal and giving it to someone or a shelter that can get the pet on the right track. There is, however, shame in what you did.

Anyone who treats an animal like that deserves what they have coming to them.

Just so you know, a caring, young lady, her husband and young son rescued that female. My family and I – just because we were fortunate enough to be at the local pet store when they brought the traumatized animal in, looking for help – are paying the vet bills to get the poor, little girl taken care of and onto a healthy path.

There are no words for someone as vile as you, but pathetic, evil and disgusting are a few to get the conversation started.

To those with a heart, our animals are like family, who give us unconditional love. God Bless those who care enough to give this in return.
