Maybe some can learn

To the Editor,

Congratulations, America. Another week without Blundering Biden stumbling into nuclear war with Russia over Ukraine, a war which has absolutely nothing to do with us.

I was going to make this letter about the innumerable reasons to not vote Democrat next month, then it occurred to me: they've already done that. Anybody dumb enough to continue voting Democrat after this embarrassing, two-year debacle of (willful?) incompetence and virtual treason isn't worth wasting my time.

A billboard by Republicans in Texas welcomes new residents, who've perhaps come to escape the blue state hell, urging them, "don't vote for what you fled".

All red states should express similar exhortations. That's exactly what blue state Democrats do.

They spend decades voting for politicians and "feel-good" policies that ultimately made their lives miserable, escape to red states, fleeing the consequences of their actions, and end up voting for the same kinds of policies and politicians because, again, it makes them feel good.

Democrats don't learn from their mistakes.

Traitor Democrats and RINOs were counting on the January 6th "insurrection" hearings to be a major issue in the November elections. Unhappily for them, nobody cares.

Thanks to outrageous inflation, and skyrocketing crime rates and international tensions, Americans are focusing on their own issues getting from paycheck to paycheck and staying safe, instead of the fake, increasingly-disintegrating "insurrection" narrative of lies and melodramatic political theater.

Two years of ongoing ruinous, willful hysteria and fabrications over the "killer pandemic" (a worldwide death toll which still hasn't hit seven million in its fourth year), and its questionable, clearly-ineffective potions with which they for some reason still insist upon injecting us haven't helped, either, only serving to deepen mistrust and contempt of government and media.

Former Hawaii Democrat congresswoman and presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard has left the Democrats.

Apparently, two years after Hillary Clinton and the DNC wrecked her campaign with wildly unsubstantiated accusations of her being a "Russian asset," Gabbard finally had enough.

To quote her, "insane," "woke" Democrat ideals, "warmongers" and severe ideologues, are the "true threats to our country and democracy".

Her ideals were admittedly somewhat sketchy, but as a presidential candidate, she was nonetheless the whole package:

Generally more "center" than left; smart, sharp, eloquent, good background, ex-military; and let's face it: not too hard on the eyes, either. She was their best chance to win...legitimately.

However, Democrat "elites," characteristically unconcerned with the will of the people, wanted a Biden-Harris ticket. Gabbard had to go. She probably wasn't crazy enough for them anyway, and too independent. They wanted puppets.

While it's nice she wised-up, it doesn't really matter unless she runs again, or convinces other more "rational" Democrats to follow.

At this writing, there's no real indication where she'll land, but she's begun supporting Republican candidates. I'll be surprised if she goes Republican, however. As reasonable as she presently seems, I wouldn't trust her, anyway. But then, Ronald Reagan was once a Democrat, too. He turned out okay.

Maybe some Democrats can learn, after all.
