To the Editor,
It's not often you use the words integrity and politics in the same sentence, and it's certainly no secret that finding men and women who serve with conviction in government is not an easy task. However, in the Northern Panhandle you don't have to look far to find a leader who serves with both conviction and integrity. Pat McGeehan embodies the qualities every elected official should strive for -- qualities like honesty, courage and humility.
During the last few years, I have had the opportunity to serve alongside Pat in the House of Delegates and have watched him lead as he confidently and consistently stands up to people in both parties who do not have the best interest of his district at heart.
Pat doesn't pull punches when it comes to batting down bad ideas and liberal agendas. He fights for policies that better the lives of every single West Virginian and is persistent in his pursuit of making West Virginia a better place to live, work, and raise our families.
When it comes to protecting the sanctity of human life, our right to keep and bear arms, and our religious freedoms, you will find no stronger advocate.
During the most recent special session, McGeehan worked harder than anyone to protect life in our state. Without him, we would not have passed one of the strongest pro-life laws in the country. The Democrats in the state legislature wanted West Virginia's abortion policy to look more like that of North Korea and China, but Pat refused to back down and made sure that we passed a bill that would protect our tiniest mountaineers.
While the rest of the country is debating gun control, Pat McGeehan works to defend your sacred right to protect yourself, your family, and your home. He understands that the answer to safer communities is not to disarm them but to empower law abiding citizens to exercise their constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
If you want a leader who is dedicated to making life more affordable for our hard-working families, then McGeehan is the only choice in this race. He is committed to putting more money in Mountaineer's pockets by strengthening our economy and lowering our taxes.
I have seen Pat fight back against proposed tax increases and government expansion consistently during his service in the legislature. He has argued for a smaller and more transparent government with the goal of making sure bureaucrats in Charleston understand that every dollar we spend comes out of someone's pocketbook.
Now, more than ever, West Virginia needs leaders like Pat McGeehan. Leaders who will serve with purpose, strength and dignity. He has proven himself to be a conservative fighter for the Northern Panhandle through his unwavering commitment to truth and the values that make our state great. If you want a leader who will put your interests above his own, Pat is definitely your guy.
