To the Editor,
1974. I was a mere 15 years old. A Sophomore in High School. School was tough. But times were sort of easy back then. 8 track players, cassette tapes, real phones in your house. Yes, the basic necessities of that era.
Oh, if your family had a console tv/ stereo unit, that was royalty.
Some of the popular TV shows in the 70s:
All In The Family, Good Times, Little House On The Prairie, Welcome Back Kotter, WKRP in Cincinnati. Oh, let's not forget the Phil Donahue show, and the Mike Douglas show.
Time rolls on. I graduated in 1976, enlisted in the Navy, and attended broadcast school. All that happened in a two year period. A jet just flew by me. No, that's Father Time.
Fast forward to the present time. I'm married with a lovely wife, and a great step daughter. I'm still working. Some of my High School classmates are grandparents now. It is what it is.
I have to end this little tidbit and answer my front door. Someone from Silver Sneakers is stopping by to say high. And that jet just flew past me again.
I need my old radio station from the 70s.
WPEZ….where are you?
