To the Editor,
As you may know, there was recently a slight train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, that poisoned local water supplies, has killed tens of thousands of fish and animals, and sent a noxious cloud of highly acidic fallout across several states and into Canada. Perhaps Norfolk Southern should've consulted a chemist or two, before deciding to burn the chemical spill.
Local municipalities using the river for water supplies were doing all they can to play it off, pretending there's no danger, but Steubenville and Weirton were both reportedly considering alternative water sources.
In an unsurprising turn of events, East Palestine had a town hall meeting on the catastrophe, and reportedly, nobody in any high-level authority, much less blame, showed up.
Probably due to the fact that that area went overwhelmingly to Trump in 2020, the Biden Chinese Circus tried hard to look the other way. That is, until Trump showed up there last week. With cleaning supplies and 20,000 bottles of water.
Politics is 75% perception. Trump went to East Palestine. Biden didn't.
And hasn't. And at this writing, he reportedly has no plans to, but that's understandable. It's always best to keep the weird uncle with advancing dementia on a short leash, lest he say something painfully embarrassing.
As he has. Numerous times.
Why, just today, he mumbled something about having had a nurse, who would come and "do things I don't think she learned in nursing school."
Reserved.
Dignified.
Presidential.
We have Rodney Dangerfield as President, but instead of getting no respect, he's getting no bad press. Not enough, anyway. He writes his own comedy, though. Other countries are definitely laughing.
Trump's visit shamed them into at least making an appearance, however, sending Pete Buttegieg, rumored to be Biden's Transportation Secretary, but who always seems otherwise occupied, when really needed. He was on "paternity leave" back during much of the shipping crisis. I'm sure he needed to recuperate rather than be at his appointed, Cabinet-level duties and responsibilities, after he and his husband adopted twins.
Anyway, "Mayor (Pothole) Pete" stayed for about three seconds, dodged reporters, made some promises, and bounced. Along with Lyin' Liberal Chuck Schumer, he later naturally tried blaming it on Trump-era "deregulation" (we know how much Democrats love regulations).
Speaking for compassionate, caring progressive liberals everywhere, Joy Behar, especially vacuous member of the vapid coven of "The View" talk show witches, expressed the opinion that the people of East Palestine "deserved it", because "that's who you voted for."
However, a bit of shockingly in-depth, actual Washington Times journalism has exonerated Trump. The accusations were groundless.
Several other train derailments have occurred around the country following East Palestine, some nearly as disastrous. I'm sure they're not at all connected, however. It's just totally coincidental that a series of train wrecks seems to be happening, all within days of each other. Surely.
"Train wreck." There's simply no better metaphor, for the Biden Administration.
