The good old weed eater

2 min read

To the Editor,

Ah The Weed Eater. Or Lawn Sculpter. Or Weed Wacker. Whatever you name it, it is a device that eliminates weeds, and overgrown unwanted grass. And if tilted a certain way, you can edge your lawn.

So as I began to use my trusty black and orange handy dandy device, it's a little dirty. But being stored away for a long period of time, it was time to get started.

Yes, I know it's August, but I'm a late starter. And so was the Weed Eater.

Being that this contraption is electric, you definitely need an extension cord. A couple of them. Like 100 feet long…each!

So I am like a little kid in a candy store. A light weight weed eater that is sturdy and capable of doing its job. Until the spool unraveled around the outside of the Weed Eater.

Not once, but FOUR times. As I expressed my joyous frustration, screaming to the Weed Eater gods in the sky, my wife watched as I was doing a rain dance in my back yard. After no rain appeared,

After a cold shower, my other half brought me back to earth. She suggested that we would go look at weed eaters at other retail stores.

A few minutes later, we arrived at a local retail store. We browsed through the lawn department, where we found numerous Weed Eaters.

But…no electric ones. Teeny gas powered ones. Bigger gas powered ones. And …holding my breath, battery powered ones. Yes, the battery powered ones.

So after a small discussion, a battery powered Weed Eater was purchased. The colors of my new Weed Eater are blue, black, and white. And it works perfectly.

All is good. For now. Yes..for now.
