A tribute to dads

2 min read

To the Editor,

Dad. Grandfather. Uncle. Neighbor. Friend. Interesting concept of all of the previously mentioned. So, what do they all have in common? They are Fathers. Yes, those men of steel who leap over tall buildings in a single bound. Those men who can bend steel in their hands, and shoot bullets out their mouths. Ah yes, the do it yourself folk. The Saturday handy guy.

Okay, so maybe the do it all guy isn't the do it all guy. Cook and clean the house. Help make dinner. Wash the laundry. Send the kids to the bus stop. Mom does that stuff. But you, the supernatural, try to pitch in when you can.

But all in all, you got to be Dad. The problem expert when arguments happen, especially with the little tykes. They grow so fast. Ah, then Dad has to be the Atlas of all travelling trips. Like a geographic General, Dad plots the course set by his preplanning the fastest way to get from point A to point B.

Let's not forget the soccer game, or cheering practice. If you're working, good old Mom will take you there.

Then there's the grass needs cut, or the weeds need to be pulled.

Dad can also be a caregiver, a doctor, a lawyer, just to name a few.

But all in all, dads deserve all of the credit that is due to them.

For all you, this is for you. Happy Fathers Day!
