All candidates should be heard

1 min read

To the Editor,

After visiting many towns and talking with hundreds of West Virginians, it is clear that they are very dissatisfied with the two-party system that runs statewide politics and, in particular, the governor's office.

Few have ever heard the names of the candidates of the three non-major parties, their principles or their platforms because they, to the detriment of we the citizens, are given no voice on media forums.

The West Virginia Broadcasts Association, TV and radio stations and newspapers could well serve the state's citizens by staging a debate so we can make an informed and intelligent decision by meeting and hearing all gubernatorial candidates share their principles and policies.

Nov. 5 will be historical for the state, since the Constitution Party will have its first candidate for governor on the ballot.

Let's let the people choose the governor, not the two parties.
